For the past 10 years I have been an active private and group harp instructor. I have coached students in Texas, New York, California, and Canada.
My approach is based on the teachings of my mentor, Judy Loman, one of the last proteges of harp virtuoso and technique innovator, Carlos Salzedo. The Salzedo Technique Method that I teach advocates strong technical foundation, strength, relaxation, and a rich, supple tone.
In lessons, I incorporate music theory and history, singing and ear training, plus body awareness through yoga and Alexander Technique. I have taught harp lessons to all ages and abilities; at a college level as an undergraduate instructor at California Institute of the Arts, and at a beginner level as Head Harp Instructor at Westcreek Academy in Valencia, California.
Lessons can take place in my Ridgewood, Queens studio, in your home, or via Zoom. Rental harps are available on a first come- first served basis.
